Announcement of a Strategic Appointment

In a significant move, Governor-elect Bob Ferguson has designated Casey Sixkiller as the ⁣new Director‌ of the Washington State⁣ Department of Ecology, with his term starting on January 15, ‍2025. This decision was revealed through an official statement from ‍Ferguson’s office.‍

Currently serving as the Regional Administrator for the Environmental ⁤Protection Agency in Region 10, Sixkiller is set to spearhead efforts aimed⁢ at safeguarding Washington’s air and water quality while promoting well-paying jobs in the clean energy sector.

A Visionary Leader for Environmental Protection

As Casey Sixkiller steps into this critical position,⁤ former Director Laura Watson is transitioning to become ‍Chief Deputy Attorney General under Attorney General-elect Nick⁣ Brown. This‍ leadership change marks a new ⁢chapter⁢ for Washington’s ecological initiatives at a time when environmental issues are more ⁣pressing than ever.
