L.A. Reid has decided to depart as a mentor on this Fox reality series, and another person on the panel might soon be joining him. Wetpaint Entertainment reported on Thursday that Britney Spears might be let go by the series. She was one of four judges on this season’s panel. Sources said the following about Britney’s future on the reality series, according to Wetpaint:
“Britney will get the boot. Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working. [Simon Cowell] wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.”
As for Reid’s departure, he managed a win in season two with Tate Stevens, and “The X Factor” winner has now spoken up himself about his mentor’s leaving the series. He said the following, according to Digital Spy:
“He’s LA Reid – I don’t know how they’re gonna replace him. But I’m sure they’ll find someone good. I kinda mentioned, ‘You know, if this whole singing thing doesn’t work out, I’ll take your place’. He just laughed.”
Stevens is now preparing to move to Nashville to begin work on his first album. No word yet on Demi Lovato’s future as a mentor on the series. Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
