When Does Nashville Season 2 Start?, Music legend T Bone Burnett will not be coming back as executive music producer on the ABC primetime soap opera Nashville when the series returns for its second season this fall.
According to a report at The Hollywood Reporter, Burnett – who is married to ‘Nashville’ creator Callie Khouri, has such as busy schedule that he will not be able to return to the music-heavy series. But let a statement from his manager explain, “his slate of other film, television and recording projects would have made it impossible for him to return for a second season”, (but) “he became close to many of the actors on Nashville, and wishes all of them — as well as the show’s producers, writers and crew — all the best with the coming season”.
It should be noted that the busy producer initially only planned to stay for one season; and during that one season he “oversaw the creation of more than 100 original recordings and personally produced or co-produced dozens of original songs featured” on ‘Nashville’.
The show – or at least the musical direction of ‘Nashville’ – will now be left in the quite capable hands of Buddy Miller, Burnett’s right-hand man during the debut season of the series. Much like Burnett, Miller is a country singer, songwriter, musician, recording artist and producer.
Burnett is currently prepping music for the upcoming feature ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ (from the Coen Brothers) and several other producing projects such as the new Elton John record. Among Burnett’s previous producing/writing efforts are music for the box office films ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’, ‘The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood’, ‘Cold Mountain’, ‘Happy Feet’, ‘The Ladykillers’, ‘Crazy Heart’ and ‘The Hunger Games’.
‘Nashville’ will return for its second season on ABC sometime this fall.
