Red Palm Oil, Dr. Oz opens the show saying he has gathered some new ideas for 2013 and he says these new miracle products are showing us new ways to get healthy and lose weight. Bryce Wild comes out and the first product he talks about is Red Palm Oil. This oil is loaded with Carotene and Tocotrienols that help us fight off disease and lose weight. So what is this miracle oil and how will it help us get healthy?

First, Red Palm Oil has more Carotene content and that is a powerful anti-oxidant that is found in things like tomatoes. Tocotrienols are a form of vitamin E and when they are combined with Carotene you get a double punch that will help your body protect itself at the cell level. Bryce says this oil is so concentrated that you only need two tablespoons a day.

Oz says that people who are using this oil in their diet have seen their cholesterol go down by over 40% in one month. It is also believed to help lower your risk of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Now for the good part. This oil will actually help you burn more calories because it revs up your metabolism. You can cook with this oil and it does not break down under high heat and it has no flavor. It works on the Omentum by forcing your body to burn more calories faster.

Next, Dr. Mike Dow comes out to talk about the latest ways we can get more benefits from sleeping. A bad night’s sleep will cause you to be tired all the time as it wears us down. Sleep is when our body regenerates itself and lack of sleep is proven to cause weight gain and other health problems. So how can you get to sleep faster and deeper?

Dow says we need to use Passion Flower Powder, about a teaspoon mixed in with water or juice, 1 hour before we go to bed. Oz adds that we can also use L-Theanine, 200mg, also. He and Dow say these are great natural tranquilizers and don’t have the addictive side effects that some over the counter drugs contain. Now Molly Nover-Baker comes out to talk about thinning hair and what we can do about it. The first product she recommends is Toppik Hair Building Fibers and I had to laugh a little bit here. This powder bonds to the surrounding hair to create a thicker and fuller appearance. I had a flashback to the days of all the infomercials on TV showing us hair paint and powder to get rid of bald spots. This is not a solution but a cover up product. Next, Molly says we can use Keranique to regrow our hair. It contains Minoxidil and these type products have been approved by the FDA for some time. I don’t understand why this is supposed to be “new.”

Chris Powell is now on the show to tell us how we can lose 20 pounds in 13 weeks by incorporating 3 sets of foods into our daily diet. He says these foods boost our metabolism and burn fat in different ways and he suggests we use as many of them as possible to keep our calorie intake down while our body is still in overdrive. First, we get foods that fight that flabby belly from getting bigger and the key is low fat protein. They are: Low Fat Cheese, Lean Chicken, Eggs, Greek Yogurt, Salmon, Shrimp, Tofu, and Lean Turkey. the protein in these foods will give you energy and keep you going without busting your buttons on your pants.

Next, we get a list of foods that boost your metabolism. Cinnamon, Garlic, Ginger, Lemons, Pecans, Peppers, Salsa, Tabasco Sauce, and Tomatoes. Oz has talked about the benefits of most of these before. Finally, Chris has a list of foods that will help keep us full so we don’t crave all of those bad snacks. Black Beans, Brown Rice, Buckwheat Pasta, Ezekiel Bread, Oats, Quinoa, Sweet Potatoes, and Low Carb Tortillas are all foods that will “stick to your gut” and keep you satisfied so you don’t get hungry. By using these foods in our diets daily, Chris says we will see the pounds disappear.
