Powerball Winner Michigan, A Powerball winner has yet to come forward with their winning ticket worth $337 million in Lapeer, Michigan. A new drawing takes place Saturday night for $40 million. The latest Powerball winner has yet to step forward in Michigan to claim their massive $337 million jackpot. The winning ticket was reportedly sold in Lapeer, Michigan and matched all of the winning numbers for Wednesday night’s jackpot.
According to NBC News, the winning Powerball ticket was sold at a Sunoco gas station which is about 60 miles north of Detroit. The town has just 8,800 residents, leaving it a major mystery as to who may have won the big prize. To put it in perspective, the town’s population is just 7% of the amount of total Powerball winners that the state of Virginia had for the August 15th drawing.
Lapeer City Manager Dale Kerbyson put the massive amount of money won in perspective for the town, saying:
“In the past we’ve had Michigan state lottery winners, but this is a whole different thing. This money would be enough to buy Lapeer.”
Lapper Mayor Bill Sprague has also been buzzing over the positive news, recently commenting on a possible name change for the town:
“We’ve had a saying for many, many years around here that one of our local car dealers had that this is ‘Lovely Lapeer’ and I guess we might have to change that to ‘Lucky Lapeer,’ or something.”
