PGA Tournament Leaderboard, The PGA Tour leaderboard at Doral has Tiger Woods rising on Saturday at the WGC-Cadillac Championship golf tournament and Matt Kuchar leads, while Dustin Johnson, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy and Zach Johnson are battling behind him in the third round in Florida after darkness and weather pushed things on Friday and now the final round is shaping up for Sunday.
Woods has not been in contention all tournament and all season and now he is looking to take advantage of the fact that due to the wind and weather no one was able to get a big lead at Doral. TPC Blue Monster has been reshaped this year and it has been a challenge for golfers and now Woods is tied around ninth at the moment and he four under for the day and this is after he had a 76 and a 73 in his first two rounds to fall low on the board and now he is just one over as the tournament moves along on Saturday. Woods is keeping pace and after his rough play the first two days, all he needs to do is remain in contention to keep things in line for Sunday and this comes after he won the WGC last season.
Woods is looking to get back on track and Woods is heading to another tournament he won in the Arnold Palmer Invitational tournament and he is looking to get at least one win before the Masters after getting three last season. Woods won five times last year and took back his number one ranking from Rory McIlroy and now he hopes to keep it, as he could lose to Adam Scott if he wins and Woods finishes sixth or worse and now he is looking to get just past that heading into play on Sunday.
Woods needs to get back on track overall and even if he doesn’t win the tournament, which he actually took last year, a good showing will give him some momentum and confidence moving forward and with the Masters coming up he needs as much as he can get. Woods is now for the moment at three under for the day and two over for the tournament and he started off the day very solid with two birdies over his first three holes and he continued the day with some solid play after a birdie on 11.
