Macaulay Culkin At Natalie Portman Wedding, Former Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, now 31, is making headlines for a six month old photograph the National Enquirer chose to run on its cover with the actor appearing haggard and emaciated. The Enquirer claims Culkin’s gaunt appearance is due to heroin addiction declaring the actor has: “6 months to live.”
The magazine posted the cover story August 1, claiming in addition to heroin, Culkin was addicted to prescription medication including oxycodone, Vicodin and Percocet alleging the actor spends upwards of $6,000 a month on painkillers.
Culkin’s reps vehemently denied the accusations against their client releasing the following statement: “The report in the National Enquirer that Macaulay Culkin is addicted to Heroin and assorted hallucinogenics is not only categorically without merit, but it is also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious. We beseech the responsible media to consider the source and its reputation and to please not perpetuate this destructive and insulting story by pursuing it any further.”
The Enquirer, known to break a few stories in its time including the John Edwards’ affair with Rielle Hunter, Jesse Jackson’s illegitimate daughter, Rush Limbaugh’s addiction to OxyContin and the Gary Hart/Donna Rice scandal, is not backing down. The magazine sees Macaulay as a cause and “will act as a dramatic and much-needed wake-up call,” it reports.”
