Latest Tim Tebow News, Tim Tebow, Russia’s calling. Offers for the 26-year-old Tebow are coming fast, but unfortunately, the free agent quarterback isn’t getting any takers from the NFL. Tebow’s latest job offer comes from another country that has been in the news quite a bit lately: Russia.
NBC Sports is reporting Sept. 14 that the Moscow Black Storm – an American football team in Russia – wants the Heisman Trophy winner for their playoff games, and is willing to pay an enormous sum to get him.
“We have offered him $1 million for two games,” the team’s owner Mikhail Zaltsman said. “I talked with him personally and he wanted to go.”
Zaltsman reported however that Tebow’s agent struck down the deal, saying Tebow may pursue a career as a “motivational speaker,” Zaltsman said. “They don’t want him to play football.”
At the rate Tebow is going, it might be hard for Tim to get motivated to speak to anyone.
After being cut the New England Patriot’s last month – Tebow’s third NFL team in three years – the very spiritual Tebow said, “I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.”
These days, Tebow has been spotted at the University of Southern California, going over his throwing motion with one of USC’s coaches. Could an NFL comeback be in the works?
Tebow’s latest turn-down to play in Russia comes a few days after the gimmicky L.A. KISS of the Arena Football League asked Tebow to join their makeup wearing and studded belt ways.
That makes at least five offers for Tebow over the last year. The CFL, the AFL, the Arena League, rugby teams, even the Lingerie League all want Tim. The only league that matters though, doesn’t.
