Half Pipe Results

Half Pipe Results, Team USA can breathe a sigh of relief as the American medal count is on the rise thanks to two incredible women’s snowboarding halfpipe performances. Kaitlyn Farrington captured gold with a score of 91.75 on her second run, while Kelly Clark pulled through in the last run of the competition with a 90.75 to steal bronze from teammate Hannah Teter, who had been sitting in third with a 90.50. Torah Bright of Australia grabbed the silver with a 91.50.

Bright has another chance to medal in the snowboard cross competition on Feb. 16. Even without American standout Arielle Gold, who had to withdraw from the competition at the 11th hour with a wrist injury, the U.S. finished with three of the top four scores. The win is especially vindicating for the American snowboarding delegation after Shaun White, the sport’s greatest icon, failed to medal yesterday.

White finished fourth in the men’s halfpipe after winning gold in both 2006 and 2010. Uncle Sam’s boarding women have established a stronghold on the podium after Jamie Anderson snagged gold in slopestyle on Feb. 9. Lindsey Jacobellis will have the chance to continue that trend in the cross competition over the weekend.
