Flat Screen Tv Recall, The Consumer Product Safety Commission says about 8,900 flat-screen TVs are being recalled because a faulty electronic component that can catch fire.

Six incidents of the TVs overheating, smoking or catching fire have been reported, the agency says. One incident involved a TV catching fire and scorching a wall.

The recall involves black Coby 32-inch flat screen TVs with the model number TFTV3229 and serial numbers beginning with LG and that have M07 or M10 in the 9th, 10th and 11th position of the serial number. It says the model and serial numbers are printed on a label on the back of the televisions. Coby is printed on the front.

The agency says consumers should contact the retailer where the television was purchased. The importer and distributor of the TVs, Coby USA, went out of business, the agency says. As a result, the televisions are being recalled through eight retailers that sold the TVs:

-Nebraska Furniture Mart, (800) 359-1200 or

-Toys R Us, (800) 869-7787 or

The TVs were sold at those retailers and through a variety of websites between August 2011 and last month, the agency says. The TVs were made in China by Coby Electronics Co. Ltd. on Hong Kong.

No injuries have been reported.
