Cammi Granato Golden Dreams For Children Foundation Founder, FASTHockey (www.FASTHockey.com), the Web’s leading resource for amateur hockey and player recruiting, today announced that it has named Cammi Granato director of development for women’s hockey. Granato joins longtime NHL veteran and fellow Olympian Scott Young, who is FASTHockey’s director of development for men’s hockey. As Director of Development for Women’s Hockey, Granato will be responsible for promoting FASTHockey, creating strategic relationships, and assisting with the development of new products and services specifically focused on women’s hockey.
“Women’s hockey is growing by leaps and bounds, yet many women are unaware of all the tools out there that can help them get to the next level,” said Granato. “I am looking forward to creating more awareness for FASTHockey so women hockey players everywhere can begin seizing opportunities they never knew existed.” One of the most dominant and recognizable women’s hockey players in the world, Granato was the first captain of the US National Team and is the all- time leading scorer in the history of US women’s hockey. A two-time US Olympian, Granato captained both the gold medal-winning team in 1998, as well as the 2002 silver medalists.
She also starred at Providence College, earning ECAC player-of-the-year honors from 1991-93. Off the ice, Granato has been a television and radio broadcaster, and in 1999 established the Cammi Granato Golden Dreams for Children Foundation. “Cammi Granato is a one-of-a-kind addition to our team,” said Marc Ruskin, president and CEO of FASTHockey. “Women’s hockey is vastly underserved. With Cammi’s background and passion, there’s no one better suited to evangelize how FASTHockey is helping to grow and promote the women’s game.”
