Amy Robach Haircut, Amy Robach shows off the haircut she got while undergoing chemotherapy. Shes on her second of eight rounds of treatment.
Amy Robach debuted a new look on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday. The 40-year-old news reporter showed off a new short haircut, which she said is an attempt at “taking control” of her looks amid a grueling fight with breast cancer.
“I am taking control of something that I have very little control of,” Robach said, in a video she recorded before the cut.
“I am going to cut my hair very short, I’ve never done this before ¦ I want to say I had something to do with how I look, not the cancer.”
Robach got her hair cut to ˜take control of how she looked during chemotherapy, she said Wednesday.
Robach, 40, admitted in a post on her blog that she first asked about losing her hair upon finding out that she’d have to undergo eight rounds of chemotherapy. So far, she’s done two rounds.
Robach previously sported shoulder-length locks. The 40-year-old news anchor found out she had breast cancer during a ˜GMA mammogram assignment in October.
“It sounds shallow I know,” she wrote. “But it was a very scary image to me. Having cancer is one thing, LOOKING like you have cancer is another thing.”
Robach underwent a double mastectomy in November after finding out she had at least two tumors while on a mammogram-related story assignment about Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
